BEW Electrical Distributors, a family-owned and operated business, specialise in catering to the needs of developers, electricians, and builders by providing electrical goods at a competitive price.
Hard work and commitment are the ‘secrets’ behind BEW’s success and has seen the company grow from one shop in South London, way back in 1983, to an enterprise consisting of eighteen distribution centers all around the country.
Along with their ever-expanding collection of distribution centers and stores, the company has also accrued a fleet of over fifty vans which are constantly moving up and down the UK in order to meet the ever-increasing demand for commercial electrical goods.
The company is a leading member of the Fegime buying group, which has given them the ability to continue its rapid growth while also maintaining their family values. Another benefit of this partnership is that the company can offer prices that you would normally only associate with that of a multinational company.
Fork Truck Direct began working with BEW many years ago now, initially supplying just one solitary machine to the Chelmsford Depot. Since then, the working relationship has blossomed and Fork Truck Direct now supplies forklifts to over fourteen BEW sites.
One of the reasons that BEW require our services is that they offer a next day delivery service. As a result, they operate a network of ‘link vans’ which visit every branch each day in order to ensure a fast, constant stream of deliveries. As you can imagine this requires quite a large amount of logistical power. Something that Fork Truck Direct is more than happy to help provide.
BEW had these kind words to say about us, ““BEW has been associated with Fork Truck Direct for well over 10 years. As BEW has grown, so too has the relationship with Fork Truck Direct and in particular with their salesman, Jimmy Pascavage. To date, Fork Truck Direct now supplies machines to 14 of BEW’s branches.”
“Nothing is too much trouble for Jimmy who always makes himself available to offer advice and assistance. Jimmy has assisted BEW with several branch relocations in recent times, including the Chelmsford branch move across the City in 2013, ensuring machines were available at both sites to load and unload stock. What makes Jimmy stand out from others is that he will always conduct a pre-site visit to assess BEW’s requirements ensuring the right size machine is recommended to do the job.”
It is always important to assess the requirements of each site individually so as to supply the most suitable materials handling equipment for each application. So far, Fork Truck Direct has supplied BEW with a combination of Doosan 3 wheeled electric forklifts and reach trucks to work within their tight environments. This gives them both the capacity and manoeuvrability for all eventualities.
Indeed, it’s been a fantastic partnership so far and we’re very much looking forward to the future.
