Rotary Lift’s story of success started in 1924. Inspired by a barber chair rising in the air, company founder Peter Lunati developed the world’s first vehicle lift. The lift could rotate. This design made it possible for vehicles to drive on and off the lift in forward gear – an important argument considering the frequent problem of reversing at that time. The patent for the lift was granted on September 1, 1925 and Rotary Lift, the company, was born.
Over 75 years later, Rotary Lift has grown to become the world leader in vehicle lift productivity. Apart from the headquarters in Madison, Indiana (USA) and the European Control Centre in Bräunlingen, Germany, numerous global subsidiaries attend to the desires and requirements of their customers, including Rotary Lift UK based in Halstead, Essex.
Last month, at Rotary Lift’s Halstead Operation, Fork Truck Direct delivered a brand new Combilift C3000CB forklift (see picture below). Much like Rotary Lift’s rotating vehicle lift, the Combilift products are also a unique feat of engineering in that they are the only forklift available on the market today that can operate multi-directionally, at the touch of a button. And, it is this function, coupled with the compact design of the C3000CB that makes the truck perfect for the application at Rotary Lift, where long and awkward loads have to be manoeuvred down very narrow aisles, impossible for a standard counterbalance forklift.
Although Fork Truck Direct didn’t begin in such inventive and interesting circumstances, we do share the same vision in offering superior products and service support. We are extremely pleased that Rotary Lift UK chose us as the supplier of their new forklift, and we look forward to a lengthy and successful business relationship with them.
